Today I have a great infographic to share with you! But first, check out this intro from Matt Banner.
As writers, all we want to do is practice our craft in peace, but there’s more to being an author than simply pumping out new books left and right. We need to engage with our readers and produce content for them to read between major releases. A blog is the perfect place to do just that.
Today I’ll show you how to start a website you can use for your promotion and for engaging your readers. Then we’ll take a look at an infographic designed to give you new and exciting information and tools to help elevate your writing to new heights!
Starting an Author’s Blog: A Quick Guide (Infographic)
As authors, we have power. Power to say no to our editors, and power to promote and spread the word about our books and our stories. A blog is the perfect place to channel this power and create a domain (quite literally) where you can showcase your ideas, your darkest secrets, or just tidbits of your latest book.
Starting an author’s blog is simple. You only need to purchase a domain and hosting for yourself to start the process. Once you’ve done that, you should start considering some of the things that define a successful author blog:
- Authors treat blog content as they would their own work.
- A commitment to a set schedule and frequency of posts.
- The same voice you use in your books is also present in your blog writing.
- Connect with other authors and cross promote.
