EDITOR NOTE: Amazon has discontinued these features.
A few weeks ago CEO of Bibliocrunch, Miral Sattar, joined us on #K8Chat to talk about two neat tools for selling your book on Twitter. Today I’m pleased to have Miral on the blog to explain these tools and how you use them in-depth!
If you’re on Twitter and you follow other authors, you might have seen the hashtag #AmazonCart or #AmazonWishList show up in your stream.
As an author, you want to make buying books easier for your fans and readers. Amazon came up with a brilliant way to make purchases and add items to your wishlist by using Twitter: #AmazonCart, #AmazonWishList
The tools are brilliant and also a nice tool for authors to promote their books during the holidays.
To use either of these Twitter promotion tools you need to first connect your Twitter account to Amazon. Once you’ve done that you can start promoting away!
Here’s an overview of how to connect your accounts on Youtube.
#AmazonCart
I love #AmazonCart because it let’s someone see a tweet about your book and add it to their shopping cart without leaving Twitter.
Print Books:
- Connect your Amazon account with Twitter.
- To have your print book show up in someone’s cart draft a Tweet like this.
- Want #Damascus added to your cart? Reply to this tweet with #AmazonCart www.amazon.com/Damascus-Cover-Jerusalem-Spy-Book/dp/0990526305/
- Once the tweeter responds to you with #AmazonCart in their tweet the print book shows up in their cart. Be careful to use the print book link.
eBooks:
- Connect your Amazon account with Twitter.
- To have a sample of your ebook show up the same way you would draft a Tweet like this:
- NYC Dessert Guide? Respond w/ #AmazonCart to get a free sample http://www.amazon.com/York-Citys-Crowdsourced-Dessert-Guide-ebook/dp/B007EFM1F6/
- Once the tweeter responds to you with #AmazonCart in their tweet a sample will show up on their Kindle.
#AmazonWishList
The #AmazonWishList feature allows you to add items to your Amazon wish list without leaving Twitter in a similar manner to #AmazonCart.
- Connect your Amazon account with Twitter.
- Formulate your tweet. Here is a sample tweet:
- Enjoy books about #mideast? Add “Bullets of Palestine” to
#AmazonWishList. http://www.amazon.com/Bullets-Palestine-Jerusalem-Spy-2/dp/099052633X/
- Enjoy books about #mideast? Add “Bullets of Palestine” to
- Once the tweeter responds to you with #AmazonWishList in their tweet the book will be added to their wish list.
The tools are easy to use and simple to setup. So, hurry up. What are you waiting for? Go make your book easy for people to buy or sample!
These are excellent tools for authors and for readers while shopping! Want to see how it works? Go ahead and respond to my tweet about the just release The Self-Publisher’s Ultimate Resource Guide:
Happy release day to The Self-Publisher’s Ultimate Resource Guide http://t.co/hx8LLmTGSg Reply with #AmazonCart for a free sample! (affil)
