Today I am pleased to welcome Paul Cameron to the blog to share about Booktrack! Paul joined us a while back for #k8chat but I wanted to introduce this wonderful site for those of you who may have missed the chat. Without further ado here is Paul!
I get asked all the time: “what is Booktrack”? My answer always remains the same. The best way to find out is to put on a pair of headphones and experience it for yourself.
Booktrack is a platform for authors and readers that synchronizes soundtracks to eBooks. We offer a movie-style reading experience, complete with music, ambient audio and sound effects.
Authors
Booktrack is completely free to use, which means that it’s a fantastic, no-risk promotional tool. Soundtrack and publish sample chapters, excerpts or short stories and link to your paid novel. This is an opportunity for authors to reach out to non-traditional reading audiences. We have avid readers on the platform who are also musicians, educators, gamers and technology geeks – people who might not usually read, but love the immersive nature of Booktrack. It’s also a great way for aspiring or new authors to grow a reader base. We have over a million readers on the platform, and that number is increasing daily.
Readers
Two university studies have been conducted that proves reading with Booktrack increases comprehension and engagement with text. A good soundtrack that matches the mood, setting and feel of a story can really enhance emotion and get you lost in the plot. In the world we live in, where there are so many technological distractions, Booktrack is something that brings you back to the love of reading. Best of all, it’s completely free, so it’s a fun way to discover some new authors or little-known gems! We have a rich mix of titles from famous contemporary authors like Hugh Howey to classics from H.P Lovecraft and Edgar Allen Poe, as well as new work from indie writers.
