Summary (Goodreads):
Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel.
I open my eyes wide now.
I sit up as much as I can.
And I listen.
Stay, he says.
Choices. Seventeen-year-old Mia is faced with some tough ones: Stay true to her first love—music—even if it means losing her boyfriend and leaving her family and friends behind?
Then one February morning Mia goes for a drive with her family, and in an instant, everything changes. Suddenly, all the choices are gone, except one. And it’s the only one that matters.
If I Stay is a heartachingly beautiful book about the power of love, the true meaning of family, and the choices we all make.

Wow, everybody is right, If I Stay IS beautiful. I’m so glad I finally read this stunning book because I was definitely missing out. Well, I listened to the audiobook, but I think the experience turned out to be just as magical as if I had actually read the book.
Mia’s story is heart-breaking and at the same time uplifting. I loved that, despite the circumstances, her memories made the story shine with so much love and so much hope. I wish I could just erase the parts that hurt and leave only those with her family, Adam, and her music.
And speaking of Adam, I would have loved to have met him in better circumstances. He is a sweet guy and I know he truly loves Mia, but I think that with everything going on, I didn’t have the chance to properly fall in love with him and Mia as a couple, but I hope to do so in the sequel.
Without a doubt, If I Stay is certainly a book of feels and a must read. I’m excited and terrified at the same time to read the sequel, and since I haven’t read any spoilers, I really don’t know what’s to come. I seriously hope for a happy ending!
