Summary (Goodreads):
There are six things very wrong with my life:
1. I have one of those under-the-skin spots that will never come to a head but lurk in a red way for the next two years.
2. It is on my nose
3. I have a three-year-old sister who may have peed somewhere in my room.
4. In fourteen days the summer hols will be over and then it will be back to Stalag 14 and Oberfuhrer Frau Simpson and her bunch of sadistic teachers.
5. I am very ugly and need to go into an ugly home.
6. I went to a party dressed as a stuffed olive.
In this wildly funny journal of a year in the life of Georgia Nicolson, British author Louise Rennison has perfectly captured the soaring joys and bottomless angst of being a teenager. In the spirit of Bridget Jones’s Diary, this fresh, irreverent, and simply hilarious book will leave you laughing out loud. As Georgia would say, it’s “Fabbity fab fab!”

Oh my blue polka-dotted knickers! Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging is the funniest book I’ve ever read! It made me laugh so hard I could have squirted milk out of my nose if I were drinking some (pardon the imagery). I sort of regretted reading it at the steps of my university, because I drew in a LOT of looks from people passing by. I just could not stop laughing no matter how hard I tried.
I first found out about this book by watching the movie Angus, Things and Perfect Snogging. It’s not page to screen perfect, but it is an awesome adaptation. You get the laughs, you get the weirdness of Georgia, and even a few swoons.
In all honesty, Georgia’s personality is not the best there is, she’s not a normal girl, but with all the stuff she goes through, you learn to like her. It seems to be that EVERYTHING happens to her, embarrassing stuff after embarrassing stuff. The eat-me-whole-Earth kind of stuff. I cringed-laughed with her on almost every page. Have to admit she is one brave girl.
And all for a boy. The mighty Sex God as she and a group of friends call him. That’s why there’s a full swing of snogging (kissing) classes involved plus ridiculous flirting. Not forgetting Angus, the huge cat of Georgia’s little sister and his use to get to him one time.
Now excuse me while I go and wipe the tears out of my eyes, re-read my favorite parts of this book (third time now!) and try to get the rest of Georgia’s books. I bet they are fabbity fab fab as well!
