If I were to compare this book with a dessert, I’d say it’s better than a triple chocolate cake with cookies and cream frosting. Maybe a cherry on top too.

Kasie West wrote an incredibly sweet story about a girl who has the best attitude in the world. Okay, maybe not in the whole world, but she is fantastic. She has this dry humour that is so funny and I love how not everyone gets it, except a few special ones.  Her name is Caymen and she lives above a porcelain doll shop her single mother owns. The place is sort of creepy with all the dolls they sell yet it’s such a cool place to work at (if you can stand the stares of the dolls, that is).

Anyway, back to why this book is sweet. Key words: THE ROMANCE. THE GUY. THE SWOONS.

Xander is the perfect book boyfriend. He is smart, handsome, *cough rich cough*, funny and so cute. From the first time he stepped into the shop I knew he was the one for me Caymen. You must meet him (he’s mine though, okay?)

I adored Xander and Caymen together! All of their moments made my heart melt into big puddles of feels. They were adorable. Every banter, every smile, and every difference between them made me love them so much more. I also loved how their story is so real and not that complicated like other books.

The Distance Between Us is a light contemporary and such a perfect read for summer and every other time of the year. It’s a book that makes you fall in love and dream about finding your own sweet romance, and it may also throw in a few valuable lessons as well. Kasie West is one of my favorite contemporary authors and I won’t ever hesitate to recommend her books to anyone looking for an awesome read!
