One of the very cool things about my job as an author assistant is the connections I make with fellow lovers of books. One such connection sent me this press release about an amazing conference in Dublin I so wish I could attend. If you happen to be local to the area or looking for a great excuse to travel abroad check out The Dublin Writers’ Conference!

The Dublin Writers’ Conference is an annual event founded in 2015 by the Irish best-selling author and digital-marketing expert Laurence O’Bryan. The 2016 edition will be held June 24-26 and targets an international and local audience. Venues for the conference include the Irish Writers Center and nearby Gresham Hotel. Improving writing craft and self publishing, key skills for a modern writer, are the two main tracks at this conference. They cover a fast changing environment for writers. “The event is designed to help writers move rapidly into the world of independent publishing, while ensuring they achieve the highest standards in writing craft while they do so. It features some of the best writing craft teachers in the world, flying in from the US and the UK, as well as experienced Irish writers. Excerpts from the conference will be live streamed to over 650,000 people, real followers of the various online services of BooksGoSocial.com,” says Laurence O’Bryan, event founder.
The Dublin Writers’ Conference 2016 is the first and so far only conference in Dublin, aimed at attracting writers as an audience and promoting Dublin as a cultural destination for authors from around the world. The event includes an awards dinner and three days of training sessions designed for both fiction and non fiction authors. Writers can come for just the Saturday events, or for all three days, from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
